Hughes' Syndrome

A common cause of miscarriage is a condition known as 'antiphosopholipid' or 'Hughes' syndrome. This is a relatively unknown syndrome, which combined with the fact that the NHS does not usually investigate the causes of recurrent miscarriage until the third miscarriage, means that many women trying for a child do not realise that they have it until they have suffered a third loss.
