RCOG Report: Maternal Mental Health - Women's Voices

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) has published a report, Maternal Mental Health - Women's Voices, into the results of its survey of 2,300 women's perinatal mental health experiences. According to the foreword of the report, "The results present a stark picture of an NHS in which women with poor maternal mental health during pregnancy and after birth experience low rates of onward referral and long waits, with many seeking private treatment as a result." This is precisely one of the gaps in provision that CPCP was set up to address Whilst the government is now realising the importance of maternal mental health, as the report highlights, there is a long way to go.
