City Pregnancy Counselling & Psychotherapy (CPCP) is a service located in the centre of London that provides a safe, professional, confidential and non-judgmental service for women, men and couples to discuss their difficulties with pregnancy, pregnancy loss and other related issues.
CPCP has a small garden which
provides space for quiet reflection
The Centre is available to those referred by their doctor or other agencies across London and the surrounding areas or through self-referral. It is open from 7am to 8pm Mon-Fri on an appointment basis.
CPCP is an associational member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) working within the framework of the ethical guidelines provided. Please click on the link [on the left] to find out more. The staff and volunteer counselors at CPCP are all either training to qualify, or are qualified, as counselors or psychotherapists. We regret that they are not qualified to provide medical advice or to care for those who suffer severe mental health issues or who are heavily dependant on drugs or alcohol.

CPCP aims to meet at least once all those who wish to use the service. The counselor will, at the initial meeting, assess the type of assistance the client requires and whether or not CPCP is able to provide this or whether it would be more appropriate for the client to be referred to another support service. For those clients for whom the services provided by CPCP are appropriate, the counsellor will agree and plan ongoing work with the client as required, which can last from a one-off session to regular weekly sessions lasting up to 2 years. Telephone counseling is also available.
CPCP is able to offer counseling in English and Polish. Should a client require a translation service, CPCP will endeavour to locate a suitable translator.
CPCP is able to offer the services of both male and female counselors. Should a client have a preference, he or she, or the referring agency, should let CPCP know when requesting an initial meeting.
CPCP has a wheelchair accessible counseling room but regrettably, the toilet facilities are not wheelchair accessible. Should a client require the use of the wheelchair accessible counseling room, he or she, or the referring agency, should let CPCP know when requesting an initial meeting.
CPCP is a registered charity (Charity Commission registration number 1140992) and is funded entirely through grants by charitable bodies, both religious and secular, and individual donations.
Although CPCP receives support from religious bodies, it is not a faith-based organisation and does not seek to advance any particular view on abortion. Those who fund CPCP take no part in its day-to-day running, which is left to qualified counsellors who provide a non-directive approach to counselling (please click on the link to BACP to find out more about what this means). However, as a matter of policy, CPCP does not refer to abortion providers.
We are an independant charity run on a voluntary basis and donations towards running costs are gratefully received.
